Stage 2.1.0-testing (iOS)

This is the first testing release of Stage for iOS.

It will only run on devices which have been registered with Eigenlabs.

This release should be ready for submission to the AppStore and implements all the known Apple guidelines. Please test the application on as many devices and iOS versions as you can. The minimum iOS version that's supported is 4.2.

Installing a Stage Application for Testing

To install the Stage test application on your device:

  • Download the application archive file (ending with .ipa) from this page.
  • In the Finder (or Windows Explorer), double-click the application archive. The application appears in the iTunes Applications list.
  • Sync your device.
    Please make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.

Sending Crash Reports to Eigenlabs

If the Stage application you’re testing crashes, iOS creates a record of that event. The next time you connect your device to iTunes, iTunes downloads those records (known as crash logs) to your computer. To help get the problem fixed, you should send crash logs of the application you’re testing to Eigenlabs.

Sending Crash Reports from Macs

To send crash logs to Eigenlabs:

  • In the Finder, open a new window.
  • Choose Go > Go to Folder.
  • Enter ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice.
  • Open the folder named after your device’s name.
  • Select the crash logs named after the application you’re testing.
  • Attach the logs to an email to support@eigenlabs.com
  • In the Finder, you may delete the crash logs you sent to avoid sending duplicate reports later.

Sending Crash Reports from Windows

To send crash logs to Eigenlabs, enter the crash log directory in the Windows Explorer. The crash log storage on Windows Vista/7 is located at:

  • C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice

Open the folder named after your device’s name to find the crash logs for the Stage application.
