Using Apple Loops within EigenD

EigenD has a built-in Apple Loop player called the 'Drummer' - it is available as standard in all the Factory Setups.

The Drummer has a number of 'Voices' (6 in the Pico Setup, 16 in the Alpha Setups) each of which contains a Factory Apple Loop.

You can change the Apple Loops contained within the Drummer using the following process:

Factory Pico Setup

  1. Drop your Apple Loops (in .aif or .aiff format) into the ~/Library/Eigenlabs/Loop folder.

  2. Open the Browser (found in the EigenD drop down menu)

  3. Navigate to the Drummer & Metronome Control mode (please see contents and page 1 of the Pico Quick Reference Guide)

  4. Select the Drummer voice you which to change, and press the corresponding 'Drummer voice n loop browse' where n is the desired Drummer voice

  5. You will see the Drummer loop browse view appear in the browser. Please select 'User Loops (By File)' if you would like to browse your loops by filename (in alphabetical order), or choose from the list of categories below that.

  6. Choose the desired loop - once your loop is highlighted within the browser, it has loaded and is ready to play.

Factory Alpha Setups

  1. Drop your Apple Loops (in .aif or .aiff format) into the ~/Library/Eigenlabs/Loop folder.

  2. Open the Browser (found in the EigenD drop down menu

  3. Navigate to the Advanced Drummer Controls mode (please see page 13 and 14 of the Alpha Quick Reference Guide)

If your Apple Loop does not appear in the list, please check that it has the file extension '.aif' or '.aiff' format - if not, it will not be recognised by the EigenD software.
