Hi,

I just purchased a Tau and I am trying to install the software from the USB stick. With the Tau plugged into a USB port, I start the installer. The installer proceeds fine until it gets to the Plugin Scanner. Like was mentioned in other threads, this came up behind the installer. So I click on the window to make it come forward and hit the scan button. I get a small window titled "Plugin Scanner" with an empty progress bar and two labels saying "label text". And nothing more happens.

Any advice? This is running OSX 10.6.6. It's hard to say what version of the Tau software is on the USB key.

Please advise!

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for purchasing the Tau. I am sorry to hear of the plugin scanner issue. Our chief software engineer will be back in tomorrow (Wednesday) and will respond to your inquiry at that time.

Best regards,

Neil

Hi Paul.

Please could you try downloading and installing the latest 1.3 update from
the downloads area, and let us know how it goes with that one.

I had similar problems with the plugin scanner a while back. It went away after a reboot.

Progress. Using 1.3.22, I was able to install with the Plugin Scan completing (albeit quite quickly). I then started eigenD, which had a pico setup selected by default. So I selected the default Tau setup and clicked the "Set as Default" checkbox. I then restarted eigenD. The Tau was not found. So I rebooted. Now, eigenD crashes on startup.

What next?

This sounds like a bad installation of the runtime system from the stick. You can either
download the large resources package from the website (it a 4+ Gb download though)
and/or we can send you a new copy.

If you'd like us to send it, please mail customerservices@eigenlabs.com

Ok, Running eigenD 1.3.22, with the downloaded resources pack (1.0.0). Selected the Tau 1 setup as default. The instrument is not recognized. I have a window titled "Loading tau 1", with "eigend 1" inside it and a progress bar that says "0". I do see the eigenharp in the System Profiler as a device named PSU-EM:

Product ID: 0x0003
Vendor ID: 0x2139
Version: 0.01
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: eigenlabs
Location ID: 0xfa200000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 100

My 2 cents; think you need to install EigenD Windows Drivers 1.0.6 so you can run you're TAU in win7....

Can you try filing a bug report from inside Eigend?

The logs should help me figure out what's going on.
