Pico: Loaded AU/VST no longer play

Most Recent

written by: TheTechnobear

I've had no issues with my pico and vsts

Perhaps tell us the exact steps your doing, and versions of software etc

if you don't load the NI stuff are you able to switch between the soundfonts
and AU provided by eigenlabs in the standard install?

I was playing my Pico tonight and all was working great. Until I changed from one AU (NI Massive) to another (NI Kontakt). Now my Pico will only play the piano soundfont!? The software loads the AU fine (I've tried them all) but the sound coming out is the piano soundfont. Any ideas what may be causing this?

The only issue I've had was loading Kontakt versions one after the other. Everything really went off the rails. I assume it is a NI problem. Killing EigenD and restarting solved the problem. So I just made a new setup from the factory setup with the newer version installed from the start.

This was with an Alpha but that really should not make a difference.

I guess I'm the only one that this has happened too. It's a shame as I was really starting to like my Pico.

Blackmonday - I agree with Mike that it's a NI thing. Not Pico or EigenD.

Thanks, guys. I've never experienced this problem with NI software over the many years I've been using their stuff so it's definitely not normal behaviour! I've tried the NI stuff in my other DAWs and software and everything works as normal. It's only EigenD that is showing this problem. Also, I'm unable to play any VST/AU sounds from any software makers, all I get is the standard piano soundfont through the speakers. :( When I have the time I'll have to un-install and reinstall EigenD and hope for the best!

?? Are you using the Mode key to change sounds played by the Pico?
Pico_Quick_Reference_Guide.pdf

Are you on Windows or MAC OSX?
