Hi,

It seems that EigenD is always working in 48k sample rate, is this mandatory? When trying to use a 44.1k source on the sample audio device as EigenD, the audio device correctly switched to 44.1, but EigenD stopped being responsive and so did my Pico.

Thanks,

Geert

Hi Geert,

We do run at different sample rates, and EigenD should respond to changes in sample rate without any problems. We will investigate it, but please could you send a bug report if it happens again.

I'll send a bug report later on, you might want to allow users to select the sample rate through the browser though. Are you sure you're running at different sample rates? Maybe you were using sample rate conversion and assuming that the sample rate changed. This is quite easy to reproduce when running EigenD and Garageband at the same time.

Hi Geert

This is a bug in our release on Snow Leopard, it works fine on Leopard and Tiger. We're using an old part of the API, the one from Tiger, which is supposed to work in Snow Leopard but seems to have problems. We're working on it right now and a fix should be in our next bugfix stable release, hopefully this week.

In the meantime, changes in sample rate away from 48K will cause problems, not because the sample rate is different (our system is well tested at other sample rates) but because the notification from MacOS that the change occurred seems to be doing something strange. Sorry about this, we'll fix it as soon as we can.

John
