As explained in the article The Belcanto Introduction, you can type Belcanto from the Eigenharp keyboard. We do recommend that you read The Belcanto Introduction and the Introduction to EigenD fully before continuing.
Each Belcanto note corresponds to a key on the Eigenharp, which will appear on the staff in the EigenCommander application when played in your setup's Interpreter mode. The Belcanto notes can be represented as either a note within the C major scale on a musical staff or a number which corresponds to its degree of the scale within C major. The diagram below shows an example of all eight Belcanto notes:

As well as the eight Belcanto notes, there are two other very useful keys within the Interpreter mode - an 'oops' key and a backspace key. The 'oops' key will clear all Belcanto from the current staff, and the backspace key will delete one note at a time from the staff.
To play Belcanto on an Eigenharp Pico, you need to be running Pico Factory Setup 1, and have both the EigenBrowser and the EigenCommander open.
You need to run a script to connect the Interpreter in the Pico Factory Setup, supplied in EigenD release 1.1.1-unstable and later or posted here: Pico Interpreter. Once the script has successfully run, the Interpreter mode is available for selection in place of the Scheduler control mode (please refer to the Pico Quick Reference Guide for more information).

To play Belcanto on an Eigenharp Alpha, you need to be running one of the Alpha Factory Setup, and have both the EigenBrowser and the EigenCommander open.
You need to run a script to connect the Interpreter in the Alpha Factory Setup, supplied in EigenD release 1.1.1-unstable and later or posted here: Alpha Interpreter. Once the script has successfully run, the Interpreter mode is available for selection underneath the breath pipe when you press the main mode key - set apart from the rest of the available modes.
